Current information of a temporary nature about classes:
See the banjo page and print out whatever you don't have.
After the introductory material, if you are impatient you can skip the high note stuff and start with cross harp and bending, but it would be good to get back to it.
Learn the harmonica.
2. Cancellations Due to Weather or School Functions.
Copy this link: Weather Cancellation, or subscribe to their (FCPS) email notification. The Park Authority follows the schools, and the information is put on the media, or call 703-324-8661. Instead of returning calls inquiring about weather cancellation of County classes, I will use the answering machine or update. I don't know anything you don't know. All will be made up. If you signed up for eight sessions, there will be eight. I am a coward. I have turned around and gone home when I had some question whether I would be able to get home later, but the Park Authority and the FCPS have become so much better with cancellation decisions that I don't expect that ever to happen again.
There will be no class when the schools are closed, or on back-to-school nights, but there may be days, especially teacher work days when the students are home but the schools are open, in which case FCPA classes are held on schedule. Don't miss a class unnecessarily.
My telephone number is: 703-573-6955. If you must miss a class, be sure to check my phone message or update here shortly before the next class. Perhaps the class was notified of a cancellation or time change on the night that you missed. No news is good news. I make no promises about the website. I have to depend on both Coxes machines and my own.
Facilities are not guaranteed to me, so check the Parks brochure or, better, their website. There is information there about class minimums and number of people registered already for each class. If a class is cancelled, it disappears, so there is no reason to be surprised.
